Pregnancy is an enriching experience for the to-be-mother. How many ever times she has been pregnant, each pregnancy has its own milestones and bad days. The worst days would definitely have to be the first trimester because of the morning sickness or pregnancy nausea. On an average more than seventy percent of the pregnant mothers would suffer from morning sickness. As you can see, there is a good reason to title this article “What to do for pregnancy nausea”.

What are the symptoms of pregnancy nausea?

Normally, nausea is supposed to be experienced in the mornings. But nausea and vomiting could occur throughout the day. In the first few weeks of pregnancy, there could be increased salivation. The nose could become more sensitive to smells of particular types of food. During the eleventh to the thirteenth week, the morning sickness will generally reach its peak. The vomiting and nausea will subside by itself around the end of the fourth month or the sixteenth week onwards. A little awareness about excessive vomiting is always advisable.

What if there is excessive vomiting more than nausea?

Sometimes less than one percent of pregnant women would vomit excessively or suffer from severe morning sickness. This extreme case of vomiting is called as Hyperemesis gravidarum. In most of these cases, there is continuous vomiting because of which there could be weight loss of almost of five percent. There is dehydration also. Therefore if there is excessive vomiting, one will definitely have to meet the health care provider.

Are there any remedies to hyperemesis gravidarum?

Depending on the severity of the vomiting, one could seek the health-care provider’s assistance or choose any of the self-care remedies at home. The extreme cases will definitely require medical treatment.

The health provider could provide fluid intravenously or orally or use other medications to bring the severe vomiting under control. Plenty of fluids will be given in the form of electrolytes like potassium. Sometimes vitamin B1 called as thiamine, may be injected or administered intravenously. Once the body begins to regain these fluids, the practitioner would then prescribe the anti nausea drugs. If the severity of the condition continues, then hospitalization will be required.

Which are the issues arising from pregnant nausea or vomiting?

Experts believe that pregnancy vomiting could have been one of the main reasons why early humans had an advantage during their evolutionary process. The probabilities that women with normal vomiting would carry a baby to full term are higher than those who do not show any vomiting symptoms during pregnancy.

One of the issues arising out of severe pregnancy vomiting is that the weight of the new born baby could be very low. Another important cause of concern would be the very slow growth rate of the fetus growing within such women affected by severe pregnant vomiting. The fear is that the common mile stones for the growth of the fetus cannot be achieved unless the severe vomiting is not treated immediately. Everyday there is growth and sensitive development within the fetus. Therefore even the loss of one or two days could have a great impact on the overall development of the fetus.

Here is a forewarning for the mothers-to-be. If they begin to feel that their vomiting is severe, they should seek medical intervention to quickly bring the vomiting to normal levels. They could also experiment with alternative remedies like acupressure to subdue pregnancy nausea and have a pleasant pregnancy.

Nausea and vomiting related to pregnancy affects almost all women who are pregnant. It is commonly also called morning or evening sickness. This may well look like bad news, but the good news is that there are many home remedies for pregnancy nausea. These remedies are listed below:

1.	Try to take a lot of rest.

2.	Smells that you cannot tolerate during pregnancy can increase the feeling of nausea. So when required smell a fresh lime peel until the nausea bout passes.

3.	Drinking ginger tea in the morning and evening when you feel nausea helps relieve the symptoms.

4.	Make sure you are not gobbling your food. Chew on it well.

5.	Do not stay empty stomach; if you are working take fruits and some biscuits for the day or to eat at work.

6.	Also keep a snack by the bed to eat before you lift your head from the pillow in the morning. Then, get up slowly.

7.	Have a snack high in proteins before settling in for the night. Stock a snack by your bedside for the night in case you wake up.

8.	Eat a low fat diet and high in proteins, salt and carbohydrate.

9.	Do not drink carbonated drinks. Instead, opt for fresh fruit juices during the day.

10.	Take plenty of greens. Avoid red meat as it is high in fat and results in fattening you.

11.	Eat whole grain bread or breads rich with 6 grains.

12.	You can consume wheat germ in milk – mash up the sprouts and mix it in milk and drink a few teaspoons of the mixture every few hours in the afternoon.

13.	Avoid stuffy places and keep some pleasing aromas like lavender freshening the room; however it should not be very strong aroma since it will aggravate the vomiting sensations.

14.	Chew on the peel of ginger root to help put down the nausea.

15.	There are acupressure wrist bands available which you can wear to control the feelings of nausea.

16.	Use chamomile oil to massage your body at a Spa to relax gently.

17.	Consume your fresh juices including water between meals rather than with a meal.

18.	Stay away from greasy cuisines.

19.	Change the time for taking your vitamins from mornings and evenings to day-time.

20.	Get a change of supplementary iron content you consume.

21.	Go for walks in the park and get plenty of fresh air.

22.	Eat and suck on frozen lemon flavored ice creams.

23.	Eat all you want without any restriction but limit to a healthy diet.

24.	Eating sour foods like vinegar based cuisine also helps reduce sensations of nausea.

Even if all these remedies fail rest assured that nausea and vomiting are not here to stay – by the end of the 4th month you should be getting relief and all nausea will stop. Unless the nausea takes on undue proportions, there is nothing to worry at all. The above given home remedies will abate the nausea positively. You should try these as remedies for pregnancy nausea and you will certainly enjoy the prospects of becoming a mother soon.

During pregnancy nausea, how early it starts for many women is usually at around the first half or first trimester. It affects almost 75-85% of all pregnant women. Symptoms include uneasy feeling or sickness and vomiting. There’s no definite period of this symptom since it varies from individual to individual. However, studies show that nausea disappears more or less towards the end of the third month. This is roughly during 12th week of pregnancy. Nausea may relapse at the end of the fifth month.

These symptoms are also referred as Morning Sickness. It is also called nausea gravidarum or emesis gravidarum. Pregnancy Sickness is yet another term for morning sickness.

Causes of Nausea during pregnancy

During pregnancy, there’s hormonal change in the body along with rise and fall of the estrogen level. There’s even fluctuation of the blood sugar level. The pregnancy hormone HCG (released after the implant of the baby) is also considered a factor for nausea.

Symptoms of Pregnancy Nausea

The symptoms that nausea/vomiting will occur are:

1) Feeling thirsty

2) Inadequate or no urination

3) Dark colored urine

4) Dehydration

5) Detection of ketenes in urine (A General Practitioner/Health Assistants can conduct this test)

Ways to avoid nausea

During Morning Hours:

1) Do not jump out of bed.

2) Its better to eat something after waking up (before getting out of bed).

3) Do not brush teeth immediately after eating. Doing so may cause you to throw up.

During the day:

1) Eat small (light) meals even if there’s no hunger.

2) Food with spices and high fat should be avoided.

3) Protein content should be high in the food.

3) Drinking plenty of liquid (water and fruit juice) is compulsory. Herbal tea or ginger tea is also highly recommended.

4) Bread-toast, dry crackers, etc should be included in the meals.

5) Sit for sometime after meals. Do not lie on your back immediately.

6) No alcohol, tobacco or caffeine during pregnancy.

7) Take adequate rest during the day. Do not lie flat. Use pillow under the head and legs.

Exercise (small walk) at evening-time is very helpful. Same can be done during the morning hours also after a very light meal.

During Bed-Time:

1) Snacks such as bread, milk, yoghurt, cereals, etc are ideal for dinner. Vegetable sandwich will also do.

2) Eating a small snack at mid-night is never harmful if the need arises.

3) Bed-room should be well-ventilated. There should not be any discomforting smell. It’s a very common cause for vomiting.

When to consult a doctor?

1) Vomiting 3 – 4 times a day or more.

2) Presence of blood or dark mucus in vomit.

3) Loss of too much weight.

4) Loss of liquid from the body is more than intake

Dealing with nausea at work

Given below are some helpful tips for those who can’t avoid work during the early phase of pregnancy.

1) No fried food – as simple as that. Feel free to enjoy grilled chicken, bananas, cheese, etc.

2) Emergency Kit: Napkins, plastic bag, toothbrush, toothpaste, ginger tea-bag, lip balm (lemon flavor/scented)

3) Apart from lunch, prepare some snacks as well. If vomiting occurs, this will help to avoid an empty stomach.

4) Say goodbye to group dining till delivery.

Nausea during pregnancy is never harmful for the baby. In fact, the pregnant woman can keep it down by avoiding an empty stomach. That way, the baby gets the required nutrients for its normal growth and development. In case of severe vomiting which is quite rare and occurs among roughly 1% of pregnancies, a doctor (gynecologist) should be consulted immediately. The best way to avoid is to never remain empty stomach.

A common symptom of pregnancy is cramps accompanied by nausea. They usually occur at the early stages of pregnancy. Usually, they start off as mild cramps which could cause you to think that your menstrual cycle must have began. Cramps, nausea, pregnancy? No, it does not always mean that you are pregnant. Menstrual cramps and cramps during pregnancy are similar but the causes of both are different.

There are many causes for cramping. When fertilization takes place, the egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, thus causing cramping. This usually starts 6 to 8 days after fertilization. Some light bleeding or spotting can be seen during this period. The hormonal changes also cause cramping as the uterus expands.

These cramps are similar to the ones you may experience during your period. Its is important to note that cramps are a part of pregnancy and proper care of the mother needs to be taken lest it result in severe cramping leading to excess bleeding. If this occurs, then you must consult your doctor.

Since cramping is common during pregnancy it causes a lot of discomfort. Application of heat is one such common remedy. Using a heating pad to apply heat the lower abdomen can relieve cramps. You can also take an ibuprofen, which might help in easing the pain a little, but it is advisable that you avoid any drugs during pregnancy. Any drugs should be taken with the consultation of your doctor.

Proper rest and diet are also factors that would help in easing cramps. Eating right and proper food will help in the digestion and as a result constipation and gas pains can be a lessened. It is advisable that you do not stress yourself with physical activities. Abstaining from sex also helps. Sex may cause spotting and cramping; although it is not harmful for the baby it may prove to be more of a discomfort and it is therefore sensible to refrain from it for a while.

Cramps occurring at the early stages of pregnancy could be the result of a miscarriage. If cramping is accompanied with spotting or bleeding then it could be a sign of a miscarriage. If such symptoms persist, you must consult your doctor. Another cause for cramping could be an ectopic pregnancy; it is a serious condition and requires medical attention. The signs of an ectopic pregnancy are a constant pain in your stomach, on one side, along with cramping and spotting. Constipation and gas pains also cause cramping.

During the later stages of pregnancy, cramping can be the cause of preterm labor. You may experience back pain, cramping and diarrhea. The round ligament pain, takes place as the uterus grows. The ligament supporting the uterus also expands, causing mild cramps. Around the second and third trimester you may experience the Braxton Hicks contractions, which are irregular contractions that cause cramping. Early labor is a common cause for cramping and back pain.

With changes in the body, nausea and cramping will occur during your pregnancy. If cramps and nausea persist, it is wise to consult your doctor. It is hard to differentiate between normal pregnancy and a sign of danger and it is always better to play it safe and consult your doctor.

Nausea in late pregnancy is a common condition during the first trimester of pregnancy but then nausea can also occur during the last trimester. Usually the hormones responsible for nausea drop after first trimester but then the fluctuations of hormones which continue in the body can give rise to nausea in the last trimester, too. This condition of nausea during pregnancy makes one feel uneasy.

Nausea can hamper the daily activity and can just be miserable. In the last trimester of pregnancy, nausea commonly occurs after eating. Heartburn with or without nausea is often the result. Developing nausea in the last stage of pregnancy is generally uncommon, though there are a few unlucky women who experience nausea in the last trimester. Nausea is not only present during the start of the pregnancy, but can also be present during the later stages of pregnancy.

Causes

Nausea in late pregnancy can arise due to the quick hormonal changes which the body undergoes. There is a constant change in the levels of estrogen, progesterone and hCG occurring in the body during pregnancy and there is also an increased oversensitivity of smell and taste along with increased secretion of stomach acid which leads to nausea during pregnancy. Constant variation in hormones leads to nausea during the last trimester. As the baby grows, the uterus presses over the stomach, which can give rise to nausea in the last stage of pregnancy.

Tips to combat nausea in late pregnancy

There are several precautions to be taken to avoid nausea in late pregnancy. Some of them are listed below.

Keep your cravings satisfied as keeping yourself happy will make you feel less nauseous. Take time while arising from the bed. Sit up slowly. Fast and rapid movements can increase nausea. Some biscuits should be kept by your bedside so that you can take them first in the morning. Consume small, frequent meals as the risk of nausea is increased on an empty stomach. Intake foods those are high in protein and carbohydrates. Plenty of fluids should be consumed. Prenatal vitamins should be taken on regular basis.

Consume plenty of vegetables. Hydrate yourself with water and fruit juice. Consume 5-6 small meals daily and avoid taking three huge meals Much space is not available in the stomach for food hence, you must eat less. Yoghurt is the best remedy for nausea, as it has high Vitamin B content. You must suck slices of lemon slices and take iced lemon tea or even ginger ale to combat nausea. Avoid extreme temperatures. Rich, fried and spicy foods should be avoided.

Complications

Developing nausea in the last trimester of pregnancy can be harmful to both, the mother and the child. Intense nausea and vomiting can lead to dehydration which can give rise to hurdles like low birth weight, preterm birth, etc. Pregnant women suffering from nausea in the last stage of pregnancy also suffer from loss of appetite and hence, these women are unable to meet the requirement of essential nutrients. During the last trimester of pregnancy, the mother’s body needs more nutrients to nourish the developing fetus but in case she suffers from nausea, she will not be able to do so.

Nausea in late pregnancy can be a bad experience for any woman. It proves to be an aggravating condition and can ruin the entire day of the pregnant woman. Nausea during last trimester can be effectively controlled by natural remedies.

Motherhood is considered one of the miracles of nature. It is sometimes said that a woman becomes complete only when she becomes a mother. Pregnancy is a beautiful journey but not without the bumps. One of the major difficulties faced by women is the change their bodies face due to hormonal changes. And one of the results of this hormonal change is a new question on the lips of new mothers: What helps morning sickness? Can anything help?

There is no cure for morning sickness because it cannot be categorized as an ailment but is more of a discomfort. Most women rely on household remedies to relieve them from their bouts of morning sickness. Nausea is most often associated with morning sickness. There are several remedies that could be used to relieve you from morning sickness.

You should try and eat more frequent meals, and eat small portions so that you do not feel too full or too empty at any point of time. Eating too much can cause nausea. An empty stomach also increases nausea, so the key is to eat balanced meals.

With hormonal changes the expectant mother tends to have cravings for foods that she might not eat otherwise, for instance waking up in the middle of the night and craving for some chocolate ice cream or even some fired chicken. Avoiding such foods helps to alleviate nausea. Such foods may induce acidity and increase nausea.

You can also keep something to munch on, on your bedside, like crackers, bread, cereal or any other kind of dry bland food. You could munch on these when you wake up before getting out of bed.

To avoid nausea one must try and avoid smelly foods as they can trigger nausea and cause vomiting. For this one can try and identify triggers, foods causing nausea, and avoid them and also reduce nausea and dizziness.

Vomiting causes a lot of dehydration, therefore drinking lots of fluids can be helpful. Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water, fruit juices or herbal tea. Hydration helps reduce nausea and also increases the metabolic rate. Lemon based drinks also help in reducing nausea. So keep a lemon slice or some lemon juice by your bed. Fluids help in regulating body temperature which keeps the spells of nausea at bay.

Do not stress yourself too much. It is advised that you should take adequate rest as it reduces the risk of nausea. This does not mean that one should not do anything. One can go for light walks in the morning or after dinner. This helps in regulation of the body temperature and increases blood flow throughout the body. And also helps making the mind and body healthy.

Even with the nausea, being pregnant is the one of the greatest joys of a woman and a little bit of nausea is just the way it makes everything perfect, because by the end of these nine months you will be blessed with a bundle of joy. And watching him/her grow up is going to be the best time of your life.

Morning sickness is pretty common amongst majority of pregnant women especially during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Signs of morning sickness vary from person to person but invariably include bouts of vomiting & nausea. Being an early sign of pregnancy, it is a warning signal not to engage in unhealthy practices like drinking, smoking etc. Usually this feeling starts around 4th week of pregnancy and may last upto 14th week; for some it remains throughout their pregnancy.

The name is a bit misleading since “morning sickness” may occur at any time of the day or night. It may be accompanied by headache, backache, food cravings, frequent urination and constipation. These are caused by hormonal changes; the hormone estrogen plays a big role. However these are all evolved to protect both mother and the offspring.

Some women suffer from acute signs of morning sickness such as Hyperemesis gravidarum which calls for immediate medical attention. Of course there are a small percentage of women who are immune to morning sickness. It is believed that those who go through this sickness will produce healthy babies, so be positive and cheerful. It does not do any damage to you or your baby.

It is believed that morning sickness is a defense mechanism of the body to protect the fetus particularly during early stages of formation. This is nature’s act to aid procreation of species. Food toxins can easily damage the fetus and expectant women have increased sense of smell to reject anything unpleasant that may lead to early termination of pregnancy. Their immune system is also suppressed so that the body does not reject their own baby tissue. It is also statistically proven that miscarriage occurs more in women who do not experience morning sickness.

There are a few things you can do to fight this unpleasant ordeal in an otherwise happy situation. It may not work for all women, but you can try and choose the one that works for you. It is important that you consult your doctor and take his suggestions.

• Drink water or fruit juice at regular intervals
• Sleep well in the night & nap in day time
• Give in to your food cravings with protein intake, do not skip meals
• Avoid spicy and oily meals
• Take fresh ginger and lemon to ease nausea
• Keep your movements slow and steady
• Meditate and listen to soft music
• Practice yoga breathing and relaxing exercises (It is advised to practice under supervision)
• Avoid smells that repel you
• Confine yourself to cooler places

Nothing much can be done to prevent the side effects of pregnancy. With a positive attitude and discipline, the discomforts can be minimized. All those agonizing moments will be instantly erased once the bundle of joy arrives. The little one is worthy of all the trouble. Signs of morning sickness are the most desirable event in the life of almost all women.

Most pregnant women go through a host of difficulties during the entire term of their pregnancy. Are you pregnant, vomiting and irritable? One such common physiological symptom of pregnancy is a feeling of nausea and vomiting (usually called ‘NVP’ for Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy). Once those goes away, likely you will loose the irritability, also.

About half of all pregnant women suffer from both nausea and vomiting, while one quarter have only nausea but no vomiting. The real cause of vomiting during morning sickness is not fully known. Hormonal and chemical changes in the body during pregnancy are believed to cause this. Other factors are also known to contribute to this, like high levels of thyroid hormones, and low blood sugar levels. Women who are diagnosed with migraine also experience vomiting during pregnancy. Certain multi-vitamin supplements have also shown to induce nausea and vomiting because of the high iron content in these preparations.

Mild vomiting during early pregnancy is common. But some women find it difficult to keep food down due to severe and frequent vomiting. This condition is known medically as ‘hyperemesis gravidarum’ which can result in severe nausea and vomiting. This can also lead to electrolytic imbalance. A serious condition may require medication and at times even emergency care. However, hospitalization need not always be the answer as home care by a doctor can bring the situation under control.

Different women experience different levels of omiting during pregnancy. Since every delivery is different, it is not necessary that each pregnancy exhibit the same symptoms as the previous pregnancy. As an expectant mother, you are probably going to experience symptoms of vomiting that will usually retreat over time during the term of the pregnancy. Rarely do women experience vomiting for the entire term of their pregnancy.

Changing food habits can alleviate the discomfort of vomiting. Pregnancy slows down the body’s digestion. Drinking fluids between meals rather than just before or after a meal will help. Some known and safe medications are Vitamin B-6 in doses of 25-50 mg every eight hours. Over the counter drugs must be avoided. It also helps to switch from pre-natal vitamin supplements to chewable pediatric vitamin preparations if the iron in vitamin supplements causes nausea.

A pregnant woman needs lot of rest. Taking frequent naps and lot of fresh air also help in keeping down nausea and thus prevent vomiting. Alternative therapies have also known to help victims of vomiting like acupuncture and acupressure.

Unfortunately in case of vomiting during early pregnancy, no one technique works best for all women. Some women find it helpful to sniff on a lemon, while some find relief in eating ginger-based items such as juice. Some prefer bland foods while some are perfectly comfortable eating spicy foods. Since different women show different response to some of the remedial measures, it is left entirely to the individual to see which helps her best.

Morning sickness during pregnancy affects almost 55 – 85% of all pregnant women. The symptoms generally include nausea and vomiting along with mood swings during this period. Pregnant Sickness, or morning sickness, can occur any time during the day. In some cases, symptoms may remain throughout the day as well.

Although the exact cause has not been identified yet but research has shown that the hormone HCG, released during the first trimester triggers morning sickness. Other factors like muscles of digestive tract, increase in acid level in the stomach, stretching of the uterine muscle, etc. also cause morning sickness.

The emotional environment along with lifestyle also plays a vital role for developing or not developing morning sickness in an individual. Those with simple lifestyle have less chances of developing these symptoms.

However, morning sickness is a good sign during pregnancy because it indicates that the development of the placenta is normal. Since morning sickness is not compulsory for all pregnancies, the lack of it doesn’t mean in any way that something is wrong with the pregnancy or that the baby is not developing well.

Morning sickness roughly starts between 28th – 40th day after pregnancy and continues till 98th – 112th day. In some cases, symptoms remain throughout pregnancy as well.

However, for those who develop morning sickness, the daily routine could be affected in the following manner:

1) Sleeping time gets altered. This may initially cause discomfort to the pregnant individual.

2) Eating habits also get altered. So, there’s additional burden of preparing different meals for those who are pregnant and for those who are not.

3) Since locomotion becomes slow, the pregnant individual takes more time to move around. As a result, doing simple basic activities may require more time than usual.

4) An individual suffering from nausea can go for limited entertainment since the urge to throw up can surface anytime. Watching the favorite TV program or listening to loud music can lead to vomiting or nausea without warning.

5) Long conversations over the phone or in person have a direct impact on the cough-centre of the brain. Too much of dry coughing can cause you to throw up.

6) Going to the market for even basic shopping can become difficult or uncomfortable sometimes.

7) Eating outside becomes a very sensitive issue since foods that trigger nausea or vomiting, if consumed, can invite problems.

Individuals who prefer regular sex have to change their mindset till delivery since the urge for intercourse for such people increases even more and the will to refrain from it requires a lot of mental strength.

9) Activities like driving or riding vehicles should be minimized since morning sickness attacks during those situations can be very dangerous.

10) For those who can’t avoid going to work, the pace and amount of work done is affected. Steps should be taken in advance to compensate for the loss during this period to avoid work-place problems.

Though pregnancy sickness offers more discomfort than anything useful, it is indicative of a healthy pregnancy. Would-be-moms should not feel depressed since proper precautions along with a revised daily routine (till delivery) will allow an individual to enjoy all favorite activities with ease.

In any case, regular consultation with a gynecologist can avert many complications concerning pregnancy.

First indications of pregnancy are nausea and vomiting. Most women go through this difficult stage of pregnancy. A lucky few manage the entire period of their pregnancy without any of the usual pregnancy ailments. What? You say that in the mornings you are having a sick-free pregnancy? Evening sickness is what you have? You are not alone.

Usually termed morning sickness, this starts around the 4th to 5th week of pregnancy and lasts for 2 to 3 months. The sickness does not have to be in the morning, but can happen anytime during the day. Pregnant women get up in the morning feeling nauseous but can feel so even after an evening meal. Sometimes just the act of getting up from bed suddenly can bring on dizzy spells, which can also result in vomiting. Sometimes pregnant women also go through bouts of headache.

Too much vomiting can cause dehydration. During pregnancy, some women just can’t tolerate the very thought of food and try and keep away from food. Dehydration is just one of the body’s signals that the body is running low on fluids. Thirst is another natural sign of low fluid level, that indicates that its time to replenish your body fluids. Don’t rush to get your cup of coffee or tea as yet, as these substances act as diuretics and will only increase urination which in turn would again reduce the amount of fluids in your body. Fruit juices are a good fluid supplement as long as you can keep a tab on the calorie intake. This is not the best time to gain excessive weight.

The human body is subjected to a lot of hormonal changes during the period of pregnancy. Pregnant women also experience bouts of diarrhea and at times constipation. Too little fluid intake can also cause constipation. In case of severe diarrhea it is best to seek medical help, because this condition can also be a result of food allergy, virus or food poisoning. Some expectant mothers also develop lactose intolerance, which also results in diarrhea. Constipation could also indicate improper food. At times chronic constipation can lead to the stool obstructing the bowels.

During pregnancy, women who had no issues with some foods earlier, find that their body does not tolerate these foods anymore. At times like this, diarrhea is just a way of the body going through an adjustment process. General advice during pregnancy is to have 4 to 5 smaller meals a day instead of 2 or 3 large meals. Consuming foods rich in fiber, lots of salads and plenty of water is a good dietary habit. It is generally recommended to consume at least 50 to 60 ounces of fluids per day.

Although pregnancy sickness and its associated problems are natural during pregnancy, it is important to look for signs that could indicate medical complications. Some of the signs include dark colored urine, mucous or blood in stools. Though there are plenty of medications available to treat these disorders during pregnancy, it is best to seek a prescription from your health care provider. Expectant mothers need to look after their health to prevent any harm to the growing fetus.
